We shipped a handful of improvements this week aimed at one thing: making it easier to get your story cast, voiced, and polished - without needing to be an expert in the tool to do it.

"Get Help" right where you need it

Every screen in the production workflow - Quote, Characters, Voices, Tracks, and the Track Editor - now has a short info box explaining what that screen is for, plus a Get Help button that opens a fuller explanation of what you can actually do there. No more guessing what a button does or hunting around to figure out what comes next.

Made a mistake in Character Review? Don't worry about it.

This is the big one: you no longer have to get every line perfectly cast before moving forward. If a line ends up attributed to the wrong character, or the wording needs a tweak, you're not stuck with it. Once your take finishes production, the Track Editor lets you go back and fix individual lines - reassign who's speaking, edit the text, or regenerate the audio - without redoing the whole take.

Add a character mid-edit, right from the Track Editor

Missed a character during the initial review? You can now add a brand-new character directly from the Track Editor - give them a name, pick an existing voice from your library, or design a brand-new one on the spot. No need to back all the way out to Character Review.

Split one line into two, just by clicking between two words

If a line of dialogue really reads better as two separate lines, open it in the editor and click Split Text. The text switches into a simple click-to-choose view - click the gap between the two words where it should break, confirm, and it's done. Both halves keep the same speaker, and any music/ambience/Foley cue automatically carries over to the second half.

Give your characters a color that actually stands out

Every character in your cast now has an editable color swatch, right alongside rename, merge, and remove - all from one simple Edit button per character. Easier to tell your cast apart at a glance, especially in a scene with a lot of speaking parts.

Regenerating a line now really reassigns it

Previously, picking a different voice while regenerating one line would just preview that voice for that one take, without changing who actually "owns" the line going forward. Now, picking a different cast member's voice really does reassign that line to them - so your cast list and the actual audio always stay in sync.

We'll keep chipping away at making this feel less like software and more like directing a play. If you run into something confusing, hit that new Get Help button - and if it's still not enough, let us know.
