Getting Started

The full journey from manuscript to finished radio drama.

Don't have a manuscript yet? Describe your idea instead and Quill will draft an entire book (or series) outline, cast, and backlog for you to build on - then keep writing alongside Quill as your research and drafting partner. See Writing With Quill.

1. Upload a scene

Go to Get an Estimate and upload a chapter or scene as a .txt or .docx file (up to 10 MB). You'll see an instant word count, estimated runtime, and price — no account required yet.

2. Review the detected characters

Our AI reads your scene and automatically splits it into narration and dialogue, attributing each line to a character. You review this on the Characters tab: rename or merge characters, mark them as project-level (recurring) or scene-level, and edit any individual line if the AI got something wrong. When you're happy, click Confirm Characters & Proceed to Deposit.

3. Pay the deposit

A 20% deposit unlocks the Voices tab and begins production once voices are confirmed. You'll need an account (with a confirmed email address) to pay.

4. Cast your voices

Click Choose From Library to browse, filter, and preview your existing voices (with an AI-suggested match called out up top), or Create a Voice to design a brand-new one from scratch. Choose Good & Fast or Premium & Expressive production quality, then click Confirm Voices & Start Production.

5. Preview, then pay the balance

Once production finishes, you'll get a free preview clip. When you're happy with it, pay the remaining 80% balance to unlock the full production for download.

6. Download everything

Download the finished mix, or a zip containing the mix plus every isolated stem — narration, each character, Foley, ambience, and music.

Want a video too?

Click Convert to Video on any completed take, confirm, then pick a video type: a fully Slideshow Video (AI-illustrated scenes, priced at $200/production-hour) or a Single Image Video (one image held for the whole runtime, a flat $5, no headshots). See Video Productions for how each one works.

Want another take?

Click Clone on any production to start a fresh take with the same text, cast, and voice casting already in place — adjust anything, then pay a new deposit to produce again. See Audio Production for details.
