Video Productions

Once a take is finished, click Convert to Video on the Tracks tab, confirm, and choose a video type: a fully-illustrated Slideshow Video, or a much simpler Single Image Video. This choice can't be changed afterward.

Choosing a video type

  • Slideshow Video — AI-generated scene art synced to the exact same narration and mix, with character headshots you control and a choice of image style and transitions. Priced at $200/production-hour with a 50% deposit/50% balance split - see below.
  • Single Image Video — one image (your own upload, or AI-generated from a prompt) held for the whole runtime with the take's audio playing underneath. No headshots, no scene art, no deposit/balance split — a flat $5 starts rendering, and the finished video is ready to download immediately with nothing further due.

The rest of this page (Headshots, pricing detail, Post Editor) describes the Slideshow Video path - a Single Image Video instead has its own single Image tab (upload/AI-generate the image, then pay the flat fee) and skips straight to a finished, downloadable video with no Post Editor.

How Slideshow Video pricing works

Slideshow Video is priced separately from the audio it's built from, at a flat $200 per production-hour — based on the actual finished length of the take's own mix (not the word-count estimate audio pricing uses), billed to the exact minute rather than rounded up.

  • A 50% deposit is due once you pick Slideshow Video, and unlocks the Headshots tab.
  • The remaining 50% balance is due once you've watched the preview clip, before the full video and downloads unlock.

Headshots

Before production can start, every character appearing in the take needs at least one reference image. For each character you can:

  • Upload Image — use your own photo or artwork.
  • AI Generate — describe the character (or start from an AI suggestion) and generate one.
  • Load Set — reuse a character's images from a previously saved set, if you have one; Save as Set keeps a character's current images for reuse later, in this or any other video.

A character who never actually appears on screen can be marked Not shown in a visual scene to skip the image requirement entirely. Each character also has an editable Physical Description (auto-filled from their first image) that keeps later AI-generated scene art consistent with how they look.

Two settings on this tab apply to the whole video, not just one character:

  • Image Style — the overall look of every generated scene image (Photorealistic, Comic Book, Anime, Film Noir, and many more).
  • Transitions — how scenes cut into each other: Fade, Slide, Wipe, or Comic Wipe (a wipe that rolls a random edge or corner for every single cut, for a comic-panel feel).

A Visual Scene Hint field lets you note anything about the setting the manuscript doesn't spell out — a location that's secretly somewhere else, an era, a detail worth keeping consistent across every scene's art. Once every character has an image, Start Production begins rendering.

Rendering & preview

Production illustrates and assembles every scene in order, then mixes in the take's own audio. Once it finishes, a short preview clip — the first fifth of the finished video — becomes playable immediately. The full video, downloads, and Post Editor stay locked until you pay the remaining balance.

On the rare occasion a render fails, the Video tab shows what went wrong and offers a Retry button.

Downloads

Once the balance is paid, a Download button offers the finished video, its audio track, a manifest.json describing every scene's timing, or everything at once as a ZIP. If you've rebuilt the video since it first completed (see Post Editor below), a version picker lets you download any earlier version too — nothing is ever overwritten.

Post Editor

Open Post Editor from a completed video to fix individual scenes without starting over. Each scene is listed with its current image; regenerating one spends a generation credit — every video starts with 20 free credits per production-hour, and Post Editor always shows how many you have left. Once you're out, a Buy Generations button sells more at $0.50 each, priced and credited to this video only (the same shape as Track Editor's own generation credits on the audio side).

Regenerating scene images only updates what's saved in Post Editor — the finished video itself doesn't change until you click Regenerate Video. This opens a modal where you can change the Transitions style before confirming (handy if you want to see the same video with a different transition without paying for anything, since the rebuild itself is free), and, if the take's narration has since changed, an option to import the latest audio instead of using this video's own cached copy. Rebuilding replaces the finished video in place and saves the previous version for download.

Sharing

A completed video has its own, independent sharing setting from the take it was built from — sharing (or hiding) one never affects the other. Once shared, it appears on the public Stories page under the Video Dramas tab.
